I did a lot of research before purchasing this item, and I'm very pleased with it. It is easy to use and did a good job getting out some pet stains that my spot cleaning couldn't get rid of. I've already used it 3 or 4 times because I have major dog/child traffic. Using it and even cleaning it up afterwards isn't much more work than using a vacuum.

Our previous Bissell cleaner had none of the features of this model. Because the old model worked so well we bought this one shortly after we got our second puppy. Better than Stanley Steamer. Easy to use and very easy to clean after you are done. I give this 5-stars.

First, let me say I owned a Hoover cleaner before this one. I'm saying that because it gets good reviews, but it leaked, the cheap plastic parts that hold the tank broke, but with effort, it did an "adequate" job.
The Bissell is a major step forward. With a separate tank for the cleaning solution, you can now adjust the amount of cleaner that flows into the water, or completely turn off the solution to rinse with clear water. The brushes are MUCH better than the Hoover's. Some commented that this model leaked - I didn't have that problem. The carpets have never looked better and I'm sure the heated water helped in this regard. They're not only clean, but plush once again. The attachments are also better with an included "Turbo Brush" for stairs and hard to reach areas with a motorized brush.
Some commented on all the clumps left behind. I have a dog and a cat so you can imagine the hair it pulled out - this after vacuuming thoroughly. I saw this as a plus, not a negative as it obviously got out the deep down hair the vacuum missed, but the cleaner picked up those clumps so not a worry.
All in all I have nothing to complain about. This machine is a little more money, but definitely worth it.

Bissell 94003 ProHeat 2X Select Pet Upright Deep CleanerThis is the best carpet cleaner that I have ever owned.No problems. It works great,and a must have if you have large dogs.I owned another Bissell carpet cleaner before this that did not do a great job, and broke only after seven uses.It was out of warrenty and too expensive to fix,so I bought this item.

This machine goes together very easily and works like a dream. The only problem I had was reading and seeing the fine print / fine pictures with my bifocals. That's not the fault of the mechanism. My carpets are nice and clean and the machine cleanup afterwards was very simple. Mind you, my first ever job many years ago was as a janitor in a machine shop. This was just my own dirt and that of all my animals and family. Highly recommend. My carpets are beautiful!
